What is empress casinos?

Empress Casinos was a chain of riverboat casinos that operated in the United States. The first Empress Casino opened in 1992 in Joliet, Illinois, and was owned by the Hollywood Casino Corporation. The brand later expanded to include Empress Casinos in Indiana and Missouri.

Empress Casinos were known for their luxurious facilities and high-quality gaming experiences. The riverboats offered a variety of games, including slots, table games, and poker. Many of the casinos also had entertainment venues, restaurants, and hotel accommodations.

In 2001, the Hollywood Casino Corporation was acquired by Penn National Gaming, which rebranded the Empress Casinos as Hollywood Casinos. The last Empress Casino in Joliet closed in 2009, marking the end of the Empress Casinos brand. Today, Penn National Gaming operates a number of Hollywood Casinos across the United States.
